Insight Into Infant Eye Development: From 1 to 6 Months

Around three months of age, a baby will try to reach for items he or she can see. Only within a few feet here eyes are working hard to coordinate and focus without rolling around in a uneven manner. You infant at this age is able to identify you or a caregiver that is standing close by.

Month Five

Around five months most babies have a good grasp on eye-body coordination and can start to see in depth. This is new to your child and was not present at birth. It can be fun to watch a baby stare at their hand while waving to them self. All part of normal growth and development a baby eyes will start to coordinate with the rest of her body. By six months some experts believe that  a baby can see color. Infant eye development will continue to improve by stimulating your baby’s senses and interactive play.
