Lupus is Not Detrimental to All Pregnancies

In this chronic inflammatory disease, the body's own immune system attacks tissues of the body, which can cause complications during pregnancy when symptoms such as rash, joint pain, chest pain, swollen legs, bruising or fatigue suddenly appear. However, the study found that women who have stable lupus can have successful pregnancies.

Stable lupus refers to the condition without the presence of any flare-ups. Women who had limited disease activity and no flare-ups during the time of conception and the first trimester had healthy pregnancies, Salmon reported.
