Former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino recently welcomed her first son, the Daily Mail reports.
Weighing in at 7 pounds 9 ounces, Dallas Xavier was born at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"I feel so blessed that my son Dallas Xavier was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family," Barrino, 27, recently told People Magazine. The child is the second for the singer, who also has a 10-year-old daughter.
Barrino shot to stardom after winning the popular American talent show in 2004, but the last year has been characterized by a number of controversies, according to CNN.
