Faced with a difficult decision, the couple decided to go ahead with the procedure when she was 18 weeks pregnant. Doctors used an ultrasound machine to guide the needle into the fetus’ heart, a fetus that was only seven inches long. They were able to remove less than one teaspoon of fluid, but that was enough for the baby to develop, and be born, normally. Today, Dante is a healthy baby boy with no heart issues.

Unusual pregnancies are a very scary thing for any woman and her partner, fortunately for these women, their rare birth stories ended happily.
