Eating a healthy and balanced diet can go a long way in baby brain development, but there are certain foods that have been proven to boost your baby’s memory and his or her capacity to learn.

Plus, fruits and vegetables are chock full of antioxidants, which can protect your baby’s brain tissue from any damage. Deep-colored produce has the highest antioxidant content.
3. Go Alcohol-Free ““ If you really want to stimulate your baby’s brain, avoid any alcohol during pregnancy. Moderate amounts of beer, wine, and liquor have been found to harm your baby’s brain. Even light drinking can contribute to his or her problems with learning, memory, social skills, and attention.
4. Protein ““ Whether you get your protein from animal sources or from nuts, make sure that you get this into your diet. Protein helps build cells and makes hormones for the unborn baby.
5. Iron ““ Anemia is a very common pregnancy complication, so you need to boost your iron intake in pregnancy. Iron helps deliver oxygen to your unborn baby. Without enough iron, your baby is deprived of much needed oxygen, and this can lead to poor growth and lower IQs.
6. Nuts ““ A healthy snack that you may want to eat is nuts. They’re full of healthy minerals and vitamin E. They are also high in DHA (which boosts your baby’s brain development). Plus, nuts can be easily thrown into salads, pastas, or any main dish that you’re cooking.
7. Spinach and other leafy greens ““ These vegetables are loaded with folate, which is essential to your baby’s brain development. You can eat spinach and other leafy green vegetables raw, tossed in a salad, or lightly steamed or cooked in some way.
