You Could Prevent Infertility With New Study Findings!

New Study Results Might Alleviate Infertility Concerns

A new study conducted by researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital discovered a possible way to reduce infertility and birth defects during pregnancies. The research, which was published online in the Early Edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA, involved mice subjects and restricting their caloric intake in order to increase the chances of successful reproduction.

“We found that we could completely prevent, in a mouse model, essentially every aspect of the declining egg quality typical of older females,” said the leader of the study, Dr. Jonathan Tilly.

He added that his team also identified a gene that can be altered to repeat the effects of dietary caloric restriction, which can improve the egg quality in an aging animal that is fed a normal diet. Therefore, if they are able to mimic caloric restriction, they will be able to strengthen the aging eggs.
