The Changes in My Hospital Stays
During my second hospital stay I noticed quite a few changes. I happened to work for another campus of the hospital where I gave birth and knew there were layoffs earlier in the year. There were less nurses, no fuzzy robe and slippers and my husband had to leave the building to get his own meals. It took much longer to hear from a nurse when calling the front desk and medication had to be hunted down.
My experience was very different the second time around. I had remembered some nurses from two years before and chatted about their service. I thanked them profusely and wondered if I were to come back in a few years for another birth, would they still be there? How would the patient care be? Worse, better the same?
Did you notice a difference in patient care between your first and second child?
