If this ultrasound shows a problem, then additional testing with a specialized or targeted ultrasound, amniocentesis or cordocentesis might be recommended.
These are the most common tests during pregnancy. More in-depth testing might be performed if you get abnormal results or have extenuating factors. At the same time, it’s important to discuss with your doctor risks to yourself and your baby for any testing and then decide what you feel most comfortable in doing.
