Chiropractors Will Not Treat Infertility
A chiropractor will not treat infertility, and you should never defer medical treatment for chiropractic care, but this type of treatment will address nerve impingement or joint misalignment. It is believed that managing these conditions may affect the hormones or nerve supply of some reproductive functions.
What does this mean for the average infertility patient? Well, chiropractic care may be a good adjunct to your medical treatment. If you find that you feel better or less stressed after your treatment, by all means, continue going.
On your first visit, the chiropractor will take a health history, evaluate your spine and its alignment, and possible take x-rays. They may test your range of motion and posture, or even order blood testing. Depending on your unique medical situation, the chiropractor may recommend a treatment once or twice each week. Because that can add up, check with your insurance to see if you they’ll cover your treatment.
Chiropractic Treatment is Considered Through Pregnancy
Chiropractic treatment is considered safe for women trying to conceive and through pregnancy; it may be helpful to find a chiropractor who has experience in treating women with infertility. All chiropractors are licensed to treat pregnant women, though you should be upfront with your doctor.
