How Pregnant Women’s Diets Can Increase Birth Defects Risk

The bottom line is that the quality of a pregnant woman’s diet matters. Her baby receives all the nutrients required for healthy fetal development, and she can feel safe knowing she’s protecting him against birth defects. A healthy pregnant woman’s diet should include each of the five food groups: whole grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, and lean protein.
