Iron ““ Without enough iron in your diet, your red blood cells may not deliver enough oxygen to your baby. The best sources of iron are in lean red meats, iron-fortified cereals, beans and peas, and prune juice.
Vitamin A ““ This vitamin has two main purposes in pregnancy: it aids in the development of your baby’s eyesight, and it helps form his or her skin. You can find vitamin A in carrots, sweet potatoes and dark, leafy greens (such as spinach).
Vitamin C ““ Since your immune system is suppressed in pregnancy, you need to get enough vitamin C in your diet to prevent illness. Vitamin C also helps your body absorb iron better. Vitamin C is plentiful in citrus fruits (like oranges), tomatoes, strawberries, and broccoli.
Even without paying attention of vitamins, healthy eating during pregnancy can be achieved by eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and lean protein.
