Getting a Good Night’s Sleep While Pregnant

Adjusting to a Changing body can be Challenging

Adjusting to a changing body can present many challenges, one of them being sleeping soundly during the night. Review the following pregnancy information so you can get as much rest as possible before your baby arrives.

Sleeping position

If you normally sleep on your stomach or back, you’ll have to get used to lying on your side now that a baby is on the way. It is ideal to sleep on your left side, which can improve blood flow to the heart and the uterus.

Diet

A warm drink before bed can relax you. Heat up some milk or brew a cup of caffeine-free tea. However, don’t drink too many fluids immediately before bed or you’ll need to make frequent trips to the bathroom.
