Fun Workouts #2 – Walking
Walking is one of the safest and fun workouts you can do during pregnancy. It’s simple and effective for getting your heart rate up and increasing circulation throughout your body. Start at a slow and steady pace and work your way up to a speedwalking pace when you are comfortable. Make sure you’re wearing some cushioned walking shoes for extra support, and choose routes that are only slightly challenging.
Consider walking to music or go on a walk with a friend to stay motivated and on track with your fitness goals.
Fun Workouts #3 – Yoga
Whether you’re looking for fun workouts, a stress-relieving activity or just want to improve your strength and flexibility, add a few prenatal yoga sessions to your weekly regimen. Most forms of yoga are actually quite safe during pregnancy but you will want to avoid any type of cardio-style yoga, Bikram yoga, and other more intensive workouts that do put a lot of stress on the body.
As long as you don’t overstretch and really tune in to your body, yoga moves can help to improve your strength, flexibility, and coordination.
