Baby Jordan Zane Weiner was born to former congressman Anthony Weiner and top State Department staffer Huma Abedin on Wednesday, giving the couple a positive end to a year that tarnished Weiner's political career, The Washington Post reports.
Weiner was forced to resign from his seat in Congress six months ago after he was caught in a sexting scandal and several other online relationships with women, the news source reports.
The baby came 10 days before Abedin's due date of January 1, and just a year after the couple's nuptials last year.
Weiner emailed friends to announce the arrival of the "sparkling wonder," The New York Post reports.
