3) Limit caffeine and alcohol ““ If you’re pregnant, you will want to avoid caffeine and alcohol, since they can have negative effects on your baby. For women who are constipated, you’ll want to limit how many cups of coffee or glasses of wine that you drink. Both of these can cause dehydration and make constipation worse.
4) Reduce high fat foods in your diet ““ Fried foods and other high fat foods should be minimized, since they can contribute to constipation.
5) Try prunes ““ If you’re having problems with constipation, nothing will help you go faster than prunes (dried plums). One of the best dietary remedies for constipation, prunes is a natural laxative, and they can loose your bowels and make you go. Prunes are also full of antioxidants and contain both insoluble and soluble fiber.
