Great Cold Weather Tips for Babycare – Bathing and Dry Skin

During colder months try to keep baby warm before and after a bath. Remember they are naked and we are usually clothed and forget how chilly it cant get. Placing a washcloth or small towel in the bottom of the baby tub can keep the infant warmer during a bath. Turn off air conditioning or even crank the heat if your house is prone to drafts or being cold. These steps will help you little one feel more secure and comfortable in a bath resulting in a smoother process.

Keep your baby’s skin covered with loose fitting clothing to prevent chapping or chaffing.  When heading outdoors cover the baby as much as possible without preventing their breathing. Cotton is a safe fabric that will help your baby’s skin stay dry and avoid irritation.

Just remember your baby is just like adults. They can get dry itchy skin too!
