All babies require naps, and now we know the science behind the need.
From birth, a baby’s brain is trying to sort life out. Figuring out when is sleep time and when is play time is really not up to a baby, more so their brain.
Sleep study researchers elaborated to The New York Times:
” intense synaptic activity that goes on in their highly active, highly connected brains, young children are less able to tolerate long periods of time awake”
While most parents are aware of how crucial a nap can be for their child, it is important to understand that the required nap length varies from child to child.
