If you notice changes in cervical mucus that seem abnormal, such as a change in color or consistency, speak with a physician. Cervical mucus may appear different if a woman has a vaginal infection, so you should always be examined first, if you have doubts, before trying to conceive.
Additionally, some women may not be able to collect enough cervical mucus for examination when attempting to figure if they’re experiencing ovulation symptoms, which may be due to age, medications or certain health conditions. Speak with your doctor about other ways to determine if you are ovulating if you do not produce cervical mucus, such as checking basal body temperature.
